Surficial Geologist
Jeff is a surficial geologist with the Yukon Geological Survey (YGS). The interdisciplinary nature of geomorphology compliments his interests in the fields of exploration geology, biogeography and Quaternary history. Projects he has worked on with YGS include Quaternary history, surficial geology and placer geology of the Mayo placer district; glacial history and till geochemistry of the Anvil Range, Finlayson Lake district and Glenlyon map area. Recently he has started a surficial geology compilation of the greater Whitehorse area.
Before joining the Yukon Geology program Jeff worked with industry on the Scheelite Dome property near Mayo, Yukon for 1 season and conducted his thesis work in the McQuesten area of central Yukon. His education includes a B.Sc. in physical geography from the University of Calgary and a M.Sc. in geomorphology from the University of Alberta.
