Jeffery D. Bond

Surficial Geologist

Jeff is a surficial geologist with the Yukon Geological Survey (YGS). The interdisciplinary nature of geomorphology complements his interests in the fields of exploration geology, Quaternary history, surficial mapping and geochemistry. Projects he has worked on with YGS include Quaternary history, surficial geology and placer geology of the Mayo placer district; glacial history and till geochemistry of the Anvil Range, Finlayson Lake district and Glenlyon map area; glacial history and surficial geology of the greater Whitehorse area; glacial history of the Pelly Mountains including the Big Salmon Range; and, the geochemistry of unglaciated soils. Jeff is currently mapping the Stevenson Ridge area north of Kluane Lake.
Before joining the Yukon Geology program in 1997 Jeff worked with Kennecott Canada on the Scheelite Dome property near Mayo, Yukon, and conducted his thesis work in the McQuesten area of central Yukon. His education includes a B.Sc. in physical geography from the University of Calgary and an M.Sc. in geomorphology from the University of Alberta.
