Whitehorse Trough Project Wrap-up, and Bonnet Plume Basin
This three-year project studied the sedimentology and stratigraphy of the Jurassic Laberge Group (i.e., the Richthofen, Conglomerate and Tanglefoot formations) in the Whitehorse Trough, with the aim of better assessing the petroleum potential of this frontier basin. The 2007 season will focus on writing final reports on the source rock potential, and stratigraphy and sedimentology of the Laberge Group, with minor field work in the Laberge (NTS 105 E) and Carmacks (115 I) map areas. During the 2007 field season, work will also begin in the Bonnet Plume Basin in order to scope out a new project.
