Conventional Reservoir Petrophysical Property Assessment for 17 Peel region wells

In 2008, the Yukon Geological Survey initiated a conventional reservoir petrophysical property assessment for 17 oil and gas exploration wells in the Peel Plateau and Plain exploration region of the northeastern Yukon Territory. Using geophysical properties obtained from wellbore logging, the study derived the lithology, porosity, permeability, water saturation, and shale volume for 14 subsurface geological formations. From these derived properties, the main objective of the study was to highlight particular geological formations in the Yukon Peel region that have the potential of hosting economic quantities of natural gas and/or oil.
