Lee Pigage

Head, Mineral Services


Lee has been conducting regional bedrock geology mapping programs with the Yukon Geological Survey since 1998. He was involved with mapping projects in Anvil District (NTS 105K/2,3,5,6,7) near Faro, Yukon and southeast Yukon (NTS 95C, 95D). Lee also helps design and standardize the geological databases and digital maps published by the Yukon Geological Survey. He assumed responsibility for Mineral Services in 2010.
Lee completed his BSc in geology at the University of Wyoming and his MSc and PhD in geology at the University of British Columbia. His research was primarily in the fields of metamorphic petrology and structural geology. Since graduating he has worked for over 20 years for mining and exploration companies involved with lead, zinc, gold, copper, and coal before joining Yukon Geology Program. He has been involved in exploration and development of several deposit types in Yukon and northern British Columbia.
Lee is a member of Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG), Geological Society of America (GSA), Geological Association of Canada (GAC, including Mineral Deposits Division), Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) and APEGBC (PGeo).
