Selwyn Basin
Cambrian to Devonian rocks of the Selwyn Basin and of the Earn Group host
the world-renowned sedimentary-exhalative (SEDEX) deposits of zinc, lead,
silver +/- barite of the Anvil district (Faro), Howards Pass and the Tom and
Jason deposits of Macmillan Pass. Significant reserves remain and vast tracts of
prospective stratigraphy remain under-explored and untested.
