Project Leaders: Maurice Colpron & Jim Ryan (GSC)

Bedrock mapping of southwestern McQuesten (NTS 115P) and adjacent parts of northern Carmacks (115I) map areas was conducted in 2009 under the auspices of the GEM program of Natural Resources Canada. An aeromagnetic survey of the area was completed in advance of mapping. The aim of this project was to extend recent mapping of the Yukon-Tanana terrane to the west (Stewart River area) and to the southeast (Glenlyon) to the McQuesten area. This project was a collaboration between the Geological Survey of Canada and the Yukon Geological Survey.
